Dear Commissioner's Court:
Please consider amending the Employee Health Benefit Plan Document,
page 23 retiree eligibility to coincide with the Texas County and
District Retirement eligibility.
Present plan:
Retiree Eligibility
The following retirees will be eligible to be covered under This Plan.
Retirees: An employee who retirees at fifty-five (55) or older and
has at least ten (10) years of service with the Employer provided the
individual continues to make the required contribution. Failure to
make the required contribution when due will result in automatic ter-
mination of coverage. Once coverage has terminated, it cannot be re-
instated unless the retiree returns to Active Service. Retirees may
continue on This Plan until they fail to make the required contribu-
tion.
Recommended amendment:
Retiree Eligibility
The following retirees will be eligible to be covered under This Plan.
Retirees: An employee who retires and receives retirement benefits
from The Texas County and District Retirement System may continue
insurance benefits provided the individual continues to make the re-
quired contribution. Failure to make the required contribution when
due will result in automatic termination of coverage.
