I. CONT RRCTING PRRTIES
This contract is by and hetween the Office of Court
Rd ministration, ("Grantee") and Kerr County,("Service
P~r•ovider") and in aid of L•SD Grant No. SF-9A-R1.1-10569 titled
Rdministr°ative Presiding Judges Assistance Project. This
pr•o.j ect is also f:anded in part by state appropriations to the
state Office of Court Rdmirri str•ation. It is understood by all.
parties that payment obligations or allocated f~: ..._ __, e-.~
v: -.,-~~ ohlioaticr:s. The ter-~m of this contract shall commence
on September i, 1997, and shall end on Rugust 31, i'.8, _niess
extended or ter•rninated as otherwise provided for in this
conk ract.
II. MONITORING
The Office of Court Rdminist ration, Grantee, is responsible
for closely monitoring Kerr County, Service provider, and the
exercise of reasonable care to enforce all terms and
conditions of the grant. The Service provider agrees t:o fully
coope'.^ate in the monitoring process.
III. RECORDS
Requirements of the Uniform Grant and Contract Management
Standards {UGCMS) pr^o in:algated pursuant to Section 783 of the
Cover^n ment Cade ar^e adopted 6y reference as part of this
contract, including the coot r•act provision as in Section 36,
Coin loon Rule of OMB, of ttie above standards. The Grant ee
„~ Rgency Shall keep all pr o.j ect records. Records shall be
retained for` at least {3) years following the closure of the
most r^ecent audit report and until any out stand frig litigation,
audit mr claim has been resolved. Records are sub,j ect to
inspection by CSD or any state or fed er•al agency authorized to
inspect the same.
IV. STRTEMENT OF SERVICES TD SE PERFORMED:
To promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the
administrative functions perf or`med for^ the Sixth
Rdminist r•ative Judicial Reyimrr, Kerr County agrees to provide
an employee or• employees for the Si::th Rdministr^ative .: _~:.c ~a.
r^egion.. The State of Texas, through the Office of Court
Rd ministration, will provide certain funds for payment of
salary expenses for^ an administrative assistant or` assistants
to the pr•esid ing J~.rd ge of the Sixth Rdministrative Judicial
Region. The administrative assistant or` assistants will be
employees of Kerr County, with the same responsibilities of
said employees. The administrative assistant or' assistants
shall be chosen by, antl serve at the will of, the Presiding
Judge of the Sixth Rdministrative Judicial Region. The duties
performed by an admireistr•ative assistant include - _
with the assignment and coordination of visiting judges'"
schedules, maintaining records for iudicial _=_si^nm=ors !•!ithin
the region, preparing claims for the visiting judge, and such
.^ oth er• duties as may be necessary for• ttre efficient
admir:i stratior~ of iustice in the Rdministrative Judicial
Regions.

VII. LICENSES, CERTIFICRTIONS RND INSPECTIONS

complied with by Ker^r County, SERVICE PROVIDER. Failurz to
comply witty this t•eq uirement shall be tr^eated as a default.
VII. TERMINRTION OF CONTRRCT
This contract shall begin an September 1,/997 and shall
automatically terminate on the grant expiration date or any
extension date they^e of granted by CJD or upon termination of
'the underlying grant by CJD, pr^ovided that, if a successor
