Denson, County Judge; Commissioner Pct. 1, H.A. Baldwin; Commissioner Pct. 2, T.H. Lackey; Commissioner Pct. 3, Jonathan Letz; Commissioner Pct. 4, Bruce Oehler and the following proceedings were had: Budget workshops will be held on the following: 10:30 AM District Clerk's budget was discussed. Part-time salary was increased due to more hours and responsibilities. District Clerk requested one more full-time person as a secretary to District Clerk. Everything basically remained the same in her budget. Postage machine was increased for• maintenance. Decreases were on typewriter maintenance, copier. Storage for evidence was increased at Water Street Archives. Computer software was increased. Rn auto folder was requested in capital outlay. County Law Library remained the same. Non Departmental's budget was discussed. Changes made to the budget were in worker's compensation, insurance liability, unemployment insurance, autopsy & inquests. Decreases were in audits, property insurance, and lease copier. Capital outlay requested printers and uniplex software. Rdult and Juvenile Rrobation was discussed next. Substantially the same with little incr^ease. Department of Public Safety requested a under capital outlay a new clerk under part-time line item. Other requested items wer^e pagers and radars. City/County Operations were discussed. Rirport was decreased 52,000.00. Recycle center remains the same. Rublic Library was discussed. A one-time line item was added to this year's budget for a new elevator- price at (38,000.00 and the new elevator should reduce the costs of maintenance to fix the old one. Portable scales and three radars were approved. County Sponsored budgets reviewed were Historical Commission, Trapper Contract, Soil conser-vation, Emergency Management, Big Brothers, Sig sisters, Talley House, K-Star, Crisis Council, Casa, Economic Development, Pace, Water Development, National Guard, Health Department (Hold), Child Services Board. UGRA was discussed. UGRA is still in the process of setting OSSF rate schedule. This was to be put on next Commissioners' Court agenda. Fire protection was discussed. Increase all 51,000.00 except City of Kerrville and money budgeted to put house out at the Divide in Mt. Home. Jury-Up Court was discussed. It was increased all by 51,500.00 per Tommy. Flood Control was addressed. Flood control is not set out for anything specific. It has 5100,000.00 in it now and draws interest. Traffic Safety was discussed. Amount remains the same. Denson, County Judge; Commissioner Pet. 1, H.A. Baldwin; Commissioner Pct. 2, T.H. Lackey; Commissioner Pct. 3, Jonathan Letz; Commissioner Rct.4, Bruce Oehler and the following proceedings were had: Budget workshop will he held on the following: Family and Literacy Inc. was addressed at this time. It was previously named Partners and Parenting. Two thousand dollars was agreed upon and need to change line item from Partners and Parenting to Family and Literacy, Inc. Dietert Claim was discussed. Ten thousand dollars additional was requested to purchase new vehicle. It was agreed to on 55,000.00 to purchase used vehicle and put it in a separate line item to keep track of it. Records Management was discussed. There was some discussion by Tommy about the fee collected countywide by Clerks and Jps. We currently pay 51,560.00 to Archives for storage and the records not in storage are deteriorating. Tommy recommended to the Court look at other possibilities of storage; either at Road and Bridge office or the basement of the new courthouse renovations for all records to be stored there with viewing stations for the public. Indigent Health Care was discussed. The current budget was 5600,000.00 and that has all been spent. Requested increase was in part-time. Commissioner Letz recommended to hire someone to control ~ administer other than the hospital and have this person perform other duties for Kerr County. This issue needs to be addressed and decided on after 1-1-1999. Other budgets discussed were Road and Bridge Contractual Obligation, General Contractual Obligation and 1994 Jail Bond. Permanent Improvement was discussed. There is no money in that line item. Tommy needs to start legal work now and will discuss it at August 8th Commissioners' Court meeting.
