To consider approving sharing of fee cost of a Casting Cons,dltant to perform detailed cost estimating for
Phase 3 of Courtbouse.~Annex Renovatians. The Architect gave the Court a September 1, 1998, target date
for completed Construction~Bid Documents, based on a Mazch 13 Schematic Design approval.. Due to the
lateness of approvals from subdivisions of the County on the final plan for Phase 3 (May 26}, it will not be
platuible to meet the deadlines in time f'or County budgeting process. Therefore, Architect proposes to shaze
equally with the County far fees to retain the services of a Professional Cost Estimator to derive accurate
dP+ziled cast estimates for construction (which is beyond the scope of our Contract). These costs would be
more concise than the Architect's Estimates of Probable Cost, thus, flee Architect's time to allow
concentration on preparation of Bid Documents, and make all parties mare efficient and more confident
doting the County's budgeting process. Specific proposal will follow under separate cover,
