On this day the 1Eth day of January, 198 upon motion made by
Commissioner Oehler, seconded by Commissioner Baldwin, the
Court unanimously approved by a vote of 4-0-~D, tt-:e Road a-:u
Bridge Department to advertise far bids on the lease of a
particular piece of property; namely the old Precinct No.
Road and Bridge Office located on West Belly Street in Center
Point.

Dear Judge Demon:
The City of Center Point bas been searching for temporary ci#y offices for several weeks.
Coaunissioner T.H. KButch" Lackey reflected that the old Precinct No. 2 Uf6ce located on West
Kelly Street behind the road maintenance barn in Center Point might be available with the
permission of the Kerr County Comntiasioners Conrt.
The build'mg would certainty serve our purposes as a city office motif we are able to locate a
permane~ location. The building was inspected with Commissioner Lackey. The following
maintenance or repairs would be performed at the city's expense if the Commissioners Court
approves our use of the building.
1. Interior painting of the binding.
2. Replacement of exterior door with a metal exterior door with a combination entry lock
and dead bolt lock.
J. An interior door would be installed in the restroom.
4. Some type of floor covering would be installed.
Commissioner Lackey researched the utility costs for the property and it appears that the monthly
costa for water and electricity ron about 535.00 a month. It will be recomnxaaded that the city cover
these coats also. We request that this arrangement be for one year with an option for an additional
year if our permanent office is not completed.
The City of Center Point w~71 consider this recommendation at their January 8, 1998 regular meeting.
We hope that this item will appear on your first meeting in January.
