ITEM 2.1 Consider having the Kerrville Fire Department Train
County Volunteer Firemen trained for EMT'S t.o work
in complete cooperation with City Paramedics.
Ron Derrick, EMS Coordinator :Addressed the Court stating they
are wanting to train Volunteer Firemen for EMT's. The City is
ready to train and the equipment is ready to go. When we
train these people we would like t.o have a contract. with them
for one year ar_ti.vely. Final decision has not been made nn
whether or not the County would like to help fund this
program. Commissioner Holekamp stated we could not afford to
supply pagers for fifty people, 20 people would be the most.
The cost for each individual would be approximately $250.00
per person, and we haVP_ gotten some input from the public
wishing t.o do this program. Commissioner Holekamp is to
contact. Leslie. Madden, F.MS Coordinator in Boerne for a copy of
their. contract. This item is be put back on the agenda on ,July
