Be it resolved that the Kerr County Commissioners express their support of the Local Workforce Advisory Committee as it endeavors to provide representation for the northern counties tKerr, r;illespie, Kendall, Bandera, and Medina) in the establishment of a full service One Stap Career Development Center in Kerrville. Item No. 2.14 Consider and discuss review of Courthouse 01~ 0g8~.1~ Renovations with Architect. (Mike Walker) Mike Walker addressed Court with renovation plans of the Courthouse and Jail. It was also discussed to redo the exterior of the Annex portion of the Courthouse because it is an eyesore. There was discussion that Phase III would be divided into two sections Phase IIIA and IIIB. Phase II the Demolition Phase was recommended by Mike Walker to take place on nights and weekends as well as some of Phase III - Construction. An estimation was given of the cost of Phase II being 5100,000.00 and Phase III being 1 Million. Total estimate after all finished was 1.2 Million. Commissioner Oehler wants Mike Walker to proceed with the demolition since it was planned for this year's budget. The new renovation plans should be reviewed by the District Clerk and Judges. The Court agrees on redoing the exterior of annex. Mike Walker was instructed to prepare plans and specs for ~f demolition and to go out for bids hopefully by March, 1998.
