Judge Denson stated to Mr. Perry that the only connection
Elected Officials has with the Commissioners' Cour-t was in the
budgetary process and there is no other inter•fer•ence with
elected officials. Mr-. G'er-r-y then made his presentation of
the above agenda item. Judge Denson stated to Mr. F'er-r•y that
the co~.rrt does not have legal author-ity to implement plan that
Mr-. Per-r•y is suggesting.

Honorable Judge Robert Denson:
I would like to request ao oppordarity for myself and other members of the Former Sheriff s
Department Employees Associslion to presets a proposal to Commissioners Court.
Basically, we wt~ propose that Commissioners Court modify eristiog county enrployec persoffiel
manuals to include a employee grievance procedure. We would like to propose that members from
our group as well as other interests make up a panel to hear complamks from employees and
department heads.
If we iderdii'y a problem with a department like that which is cmr~ntly m progress in the SherilP s
Deparime~ where a department bead is unable to retain employees, we would make speciSc
recommendations to Commissioners Court to remedy ffie situation.
Ora only purpose is to balance the scale for county employees and department heads so that
employees are happier and more productive while giving departme~ heads refief from dealing with
employee problems on a daily basis.
Ifyou feel we need to contact the County Attorney or arty speci&c Commissioner prior to making
era presentation, please advise. We hope to make this effort worthwMle for all citizens of Rerr
County.
