No County Employee (except law enfor-cement officers, .jailers, child care wor•ker•s employed at the .j~_ivenile detention center, and comm~.~nity super-vision and cor-r-ections officers who ar•e authorized by state law to car•r•y weapons) shall accumulate compensatory time in excess of X40 gross ho~_ir•s (16iD hour-s of actual overtime worked). No law enforcement officer-s, .jailers, child care wor•ker-s employed at the .juvenile detention center-, and comm~.~nity supervision and cor•r•ections officer-s who accumulate over-time credit in excess of 48~D gr-oss ho~.ir•s (36a ho~_ir•s of act~_ial overtime hours worked). Compensatory time off must be taken within the three-month period fallowing the day in which the compensatory time is approved and accr•~aed; any compensatory time not used at the end of the three-month per-iod shall be turned into the County Tr•eas~_ir•er•'s Office to the paid as over-time on the next r-eg~_ilar• pay period.
