CODE 21 O TELEPHONE ]33-8233 F.x ]3303]a Dear Judge Denson: This letter is written to confirm that you have employed the Law Offices of Johnson, Christopher, Javore & Cochran, Incorporated to represent you. My hourly rate is $165.00 and in the event that any other attorney in the firm participates in your representation, their rates range from $125.00 to $180.00 per hour. In this connection, the foregoing hourly rates are subject to change at the beginning of each calendar year. The minimum billing period for Johnson, Christopher, Javore & Cochran, Incorporated is fifteen minutes for services rendered including telephone calls. An adjustment may be made to reduce the bill depending on the number of phone calls and duration of each call. Similarly, the preparation of certain documents may be susceptible to the use of forms developed at Johnson, Christopher, Javore & Cochran, Incorporated. You will be charged a reasonable fee for the preparation of such documents even though the product of the attorney's hourly rate and actual time expended may be less. Travel time will be billed at half rate from "portal to portal," including any expenses reasonably incurred with such travel. Should an overnight stay be required, time will not be billed for evening hours which are not actually devoted to the case. It is agreed and understood that in addition to our fees, you are responsible for all costs advanced by our firm. All fees and costs advanced are payable upon invoicing at the Law Offices of Johnson, Christopher, Javore & Cochran, Incorporated, 5802 N.W. Ex- pressway, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas 78201. In the event that any statement remains unpaid for a period of thirty days, the firm may require a $3,000.00 retainer be deposited in the trust account against which future billings will be made. Under those circumstances, you will be required to maintain a minimum balance of $1,000.00 in the trust account at all times. It is further understood that the law firm of Johnson, Christopher, Javore & Cochran, Incorporated may withdraw at any time from your representation or you may terminate our firm. At April 22, 1998 Page 2 the time of termination all outstanding fees and costs advanced shall become immediately due and payable. In the event of any dispute arising under this contract, such matter shall be submitted to the San Antonio Bar Association, Fee Dispute Committee for arbitration.
