Very important 11 occasion today. We need to take care of some formalities, 12 which will include the approval of bonds and administration 13 of oaths to not only existing officials of the County that 14 have been in office before, but also our newly elected 15 officials. It's an important day for not only those folks, 16 but also for the entire County. We appreciate all of you 17 being present today, and we'll get on with business. But, 18 before we do that, we'll have an invocation and a pledge of 19 allegiance. The invocation this morning is going to be held 20 by J. R. Dye. JUDGE DENSON: And, it's a particular pleasure to offer appreciation to three different County clerks. One, Pat Dye, who's worked with me for several years. Billie Meeker. Billie, did you make it? MS. MEEKER: I did. JUDGE DENSON: Billie, after Pat had to retire, came in and filled in almost an entire year, maybe a little bit over a year. for us, and just did an outstanding job, and we appreciate you. MS. MEEKER: Thank you, Bob. JUDGE DENSON: And, Jannett? I know you'll do an outstanding job for the County in keeping with all the County Clerks. (Applause.) Thea Sovil, who is my Administrative Assistant, who's downstairs organizing all the coffee and cookies and all, can't be here, but she's been extremely helpful to the Commissioners Court, and I anticipate that will continue in the future. Kathy Banik, my court reporter, has been outstanding. Sometimes you have to reach outside the courthouse to find special people, and I do know they exist. Sherry Cunningham. MS. CUNNINGHAM: I didn't know that was coming. Thank you, Judge. JUDGE DENSON: Olga Ozuna, who is a secretary for the Juvenile Probation. I don't know that she was able to make it this morning, but she has been extremely special. Barbara Holmes, the Administrative Coordinator for County Court at Law, and she has been also very helpful to the entire County Court. And then last, to my wife. (Applause.) JUDGE DENSON: And, the passing of the -- in legal terms, they call it the passing of the gavel. In this case, it may be the passing of the hammer, to Judge Henneke. (Applause.) And they've left us a firm foundation, one that will serve us well as we go into the future. At this time, we're going to continue rapidly, we hope, through the rest of the agenda, since it's almost the end of the first quarter in the Cotton Bowl.
