Re: County Road System Resolution
Capital Murder Trial Resolution
Dear Representative Hilderbran:
Enclosed are copies of the Resolutions adopted by Kerr County to show our
support of legislation to provide funds for these crucial issues.
The County Road System Resolution requests the State Legislature allocate a
portion of the motor fuel tax to offset the ever increasing costs of maintaining County
Roads.
The Capital Murder Trial Resolution requests that the State Legislature provide
assistance to limit county liability for capital murder trials. Large, extended murder trials
can devastate a county budget.
Your cooperation in supporting the legislation is greatly appreciated.

WHEREAS;
the entire cost of capital murder trials is presently born by
counties; and
WHEREAS; the cost of one capital murder trial can devastate the
budget of a small or medium size county; and
WHEREAS; counties are unable to adjust their budgets during a fiscal
year to absorb this extraordinary expense.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Kerr County
Commissioners' Court requests that the State Legislature
provide assistance to limit county liability for capital
murder trials.
