ORDER N0. 258~7i5 PROCLAMATIDN DECLARING THE MDNTH DF APRIL AS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH On this the 22nd day of March 1999, upon motion made by Commissioner Baldwin, seconded by Commissioner Griffin, the Court unanimously approved by a vote of 4-0-0, to adopt the proclamation on Child Abuse Rrevention Month: PROCLAMATION "Whereas, nearly 30,00@ cases of child abuse and neglect were confirmed in Texas in Fiscal Year 1998; and Whereas, Child abuse prevention is a community responsibility and finding solutions depends on involvement among all people; and Whereas, Communities must made every effort to pr^o mote programs that benefit children and their^ families; Whereas, Effective child abuse prevention programs succeed because of partnerships among agencies, schools, religious organizations, law enforcement agencies, and the business community; and Whereas, everyone in the community should become more aware of child abuse prevention and consider helping parents raise their children in a safe, nurturing environment; Now, therefore, I, Fred Henneke, Kerr County Judge do hereby proclaim the month of April, 1999 to be Child Abuse Prevention Month in Kerr County, and urge all citizens to work together to help reduce child abuse and neglect significantly in years to come.
