proclamation proclaiming May 4th, 1999, as Camp Appreciation
Day.

area Children's Camps as an extremely important
economic component of our• County;
WHEREAS, the camping industry is and always has been an
integral part of the history and development of
Kerr County and
WHEREAS, Camps play a vital role in the educational
development of many young citizens and fut~_ir•e
leaders of our• nation, state and county.

In Re: Proclamation of "Kerr County Camp Appreciation Day"
Dear Judge Henneke:
Each year the Camps of Kerr County generate an economic impact of about $15 million
to our economy. Further, the camps cause in excess of 25,000 people to come into our county as
campers and those camper's visitors. In recognition of these facts, among others, we ask that you
would lead the Commissioner's Court in making a proclamation causing May 4 , 1999 to be
"Kerr County Camp Appreciation Day".
For many years the Chambers of Commerce in Kerrville and the West Kerr County have
combined in an effort to recognize these significant and substantial contributions to Kerr County
by the camping industry. We appreciate the Proclamations that are offered by the Kerr County
Commissioners Court, the Kerrville City Council, the Ingram City Council ,and the Center
Point City Council showing appreciation for the camping industry in Kerr County.
As well as proclaiming May 4, 1999 as "Kerr County Camp Appreciation Day "please
accept our invitation as a guest to the Banquet that evening . Your attendance, would be
appreciated. The 12`h Annual Camp Appreciation Banquet is to held at the Lutheran Camp
Chrysalis May 4, 1999 at 5:30 PM. Most every camp will be represented . The help of the
Court is appreciated.
