The South Texas Watermaster Advisory Committee will have seven member terms expire on
August 31, 1999. These vacancies will be filled on September 1, 1999, for a term of two years
by the Executive Director of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC).
The Executive Director, TNRCC, will be provided nominees to fill each of the positions. The
nominees may include any of the present members whose terms are expiring that wish to serve
another term on the committee. The present committee members whose terms will expire are:

City of Alice. Approval from the Executive Director of the TNRCC is pending. Mr. Garza
could not continue as a member due to health reasons. Mr. Saenz will have the opportunity to
continue on the committee for atwo-year term beginning September 1, 1999.
Please take this opportunity to provide your nominee if you know of a person willing to serve
and is qualified to be a member. Committee members must be water right holders in the South
Texas Water Division or must be a representative of a water right holder in the South Texas
Water Division and in the area being represented by the current committee members listed above
~:~hose terms are expiring. Please have each nominee submitted provide a short biography to this
office.
For your information, the South Texas Watermaster Advisory Committee was created by Senate
Bill 1406 during the 19971egislative session. The committee was created to provide
recommendations to the Executive Director of the TNRCC regarding (1) activities of benefit to
water right holders regarding the administration and distribution of water to holders of water
rights; (2) review and comment on the annual budget of the Watermaster operations; and (3)
other duties as may be requested by the Executive Director with regard to Watermaster
operations or as requested by holders of water rights in the water division.
