See Agenda Request Rule Adopted by Commissioners' Court. .~ June 17, 1999 Kerr County Commissioners Court Kerr County Courthouse Kerrville, Texas Subject: Request for Tax Exemption for Historic Structure I am requesting a tax exemption on my residence (the A.C. Schreiner, Jr. Home, a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark) located at 405 Water St. in accordance with Property Tax Code, Section 11.24 (copy of which is attached) regarding exemptions for Recorded Texas Historic Landmarks. After speaking with the County Tax Appraisal District Office, it is my understanding that as the "governing body of the taxing unit," the Court has the authority in accordance with the above Property Tax Code to grant an exemption. My wife and I have spent the last seven years renovating this historic structure in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Texas State Historical Commission and plan to continue to preserve it as a permanent asset to the Kerrville community. I am attaching some information regarding the historical significance of the building that may be helpful to you in making your decision. I would hope that the members of the Commissioners' Court would see fit to encourage the preservation of our few remaining historical structures in Kerrville by granting this request for an exemption. If you require additional information regarding the history of the house, please let me know. cerely, ,~ j ~ ~~ - ~ ~.~,~ ames~.
