Dear Mr. Johnston: WWW, Inc. requests to trench across Kerrville South II and Codrington Drive for the purposes of installing a 6 "water line to the following specifications: ~" 1. Trench dimensions of 32" deep and 12" width. 2. Pipe will be embedded in 12" of sand, followed by 6" of compacted native soils, 12" of concrete and 2" of Cold Mix Asphalt patch. WWW, Inc. desires your consideration of: 1. the native, solid-rock conditions, 2. the absence of applicable and reasonably valued trenching equipment in Kerr County, and 3. the ability to perform future maintenance. If this request is denied, let this letter, additionally, serve as a request to have this issue placed on the Commissioner's Court Agenda for their July 26, 1999 meeting. Rd~k APPENDIX A Underground Utilities Crossing County Road All utility lines that pass under a road shall be installed before the road is paved. When it is necessary that utility lines pass under an existing road pavement, they shall be bored to a point of at least four (4) feet beyond the edge of the pavement. 2. Should conditions exist making it impossible to bore, the following steps must be followed: a. A permit must be obtained from the Road 8c Bridge Department showing location, time and date the road is to be cut. b. Signage must be provided in accordance with Texas Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD); and a flagman shall direct traffic during the construction. c. The road will be dug and rewired exactly in accordance with the detail in Exhibit "A". d The work will be completed in a timely manner, but no longer than five (5) working days. e. After the construction is completed, the Road & Bridge departinent shall be contacxed for the final inspection. 3. Failure to follow procedure in Item 2 will result in a suit to collect the County's damages including attorney's fees and court cost, and may result in criminal prosecution under Section 28 of the Texas Penal Code.
