JOB DESCRIPTION: FACILITIES SUPERVISOR PAY GROUP: APPOINTED FLSA: EXEMPT .TnR TTTT,F,: OBJECTIVE: FACILITIES USE AND MAINTENANCE ADMINISTRATOR To ensure all county facilities and grounds are properly maintained and utilized. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 1. Reports to: Commissioners' Court and/or to any member of the court who may be designated by the court as direct supervisor. 2. Directs: All personnel associated with facilities use and maintenance and Environmental Solid Waste Department. 3. Other: Has contact with other county departments, contractors, vendors, suppliers and public. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This is a responsible supervisory position. Duties include supervising the maintenance of all county facilities and grounds; ensuring all necessary repair work is done; ordering necessary equipment and supplies for maintenance work and assigning personnel to accomplish these tasks; prepare contracts, schedule and administer contracts for events and functions at all County Facilities and Grounds. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Assigns and supervises work of maintenance/custodians and other employees within department; Assigns and supervises all necessary repairs on County Facilities. Inspects buildings and grounds to monitor the quantity and quality of work being performed and takes remedial action if necessary; Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and equipment; provide support and space for central supply. Evaluates necessity for any major repairs or maintenance needs and makes recommendations for remedial action; Administer scheduling, contracts and fees for use of all county facilities by the public, organizations, businesses, and agencies. Prepares necessary reports, makes grant applications where applicable, submits employee time sheets, and other reports related to Maintenance and Environmental Solid Waste. Prepares budgets for Departments assigned to Facilities Use and Maintenance Administrator. Ensures that expenditures remain within budgeted amounts; and Performs other duties as may be assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to supervise and motivate employees in unskilled or semi-skilled positions; ability to evaluate the need for various repairs and maintenance; ability to operate and to train employees in the use of janitorial and grounds maintenance equipment; ability to prepare listings for inventory, to order supplies, and to prepare other records and reports, ability to understand and communicate to others oral and written instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county personnel, vendors, and the general public. Represents County as assigned to work with other Governmental Entities on projects for public good. ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High school graduation or its equivalent plus at least four years work experience involving a variety of maintenance activities, such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work, two years of which must have included supervisory responsibilities; or Sufficient education to read and write and at least six years work experience involving a variety of maintenance activities such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work, two years of which must have included supervisory responsibilities; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Receive calls and transfer to appropriate department. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 1. Reports to: Facilities Use & Maintenance Administrator 2. Directs: None 3. Other: Works with other Facilities Use & Maintenance and Environmental Solid Waste Employees, the General Public, and potential groups booking Kerr County Facilities. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This is a responsible non supervisory position that may involve some independent judgment. Duties include performing clerical and bookkeeping work, which requires application of various complex work methods and procedures, These duties are to be done in accordance with the department regulations, functions, policies, and practices. Must assist the Facilities Administrator and the public.
