We'll call to order this special meeting of Kerr County Commissioners Court. First item of business is to approve the bond on behalf of James Allen Hicks to serve as Interim Sheriff in the amount of S5,000. Jannett, Ms. County Clerk, does the bond comply with the statute? MS. PIEPER: Yes, it does. JUDGE HENNEKE: All right. At this time, I'd entertain a motion to approve the bond and authorize the County Judge to sign same. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: I move we approve the bond for Mr. James Allen Hicks, Interim Sheriff, in the amount of 55,000. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: I second the motion. JUDGE HENNEKE: Moved by Commissioner Williams, seconded by Commissioner Baldwin, that we approve the bond from Western Surety Company in the amount of 55,000 on behalf of James Allen Hicks. Second order of business this morning is to authorize Mr. Hicks, as Interim Sheriff, to appoint the necessary deputies. Do I have a motion to that effect? COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: So moved. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Second. JUDGE HENNEKE: Moved by Commissioner Baldwin, seconded by Commissioner Williams, that Interim Sheriff James Allen Hicks be authorized to appoint deputies, as authorized by this Court. Any further discussion? If not, all in favor, raise your right hand. (The motion was carried by unanimous vote.) JUDGE HENNEKE: All opposed, same sign. (No response.) JUDGE HENNEKE: Motion carries.
