HUWCD Kerr County, Texas Headwaters Underground Water Conservation District September 23, 1999 Bill Williams County Commissioner -Pct. 2 700 Main Kerrville, TX 78028 Re: Access and use of well, Kerr County Youth barns, for monitoring water levels and water quality by the District. Dear Commissioner Williams: The District continues to search for more information on the groundwater in Kerr County, and of particular interest is the availability and dynamics of groundwater in the high demand areas. Wells minimally used, are preferred for obtaining the desired information. The monitoring would include a monthly (at this time) insertion of a 1/4" electronic- transmitted probe into the well through the wellhead plate. It may be necessary to install a 1/2" PVC (schedule 20) tube the depth of the well to facilitate an unobstructed measurement. Additionally, if the well pump is being maintained, the District may desire collecting a sample of water for testing the constituents of the groundwater twice a year. Costs for these activities, excluding expenses for any electricity or depreciation on the well, are the responsibility of the District.
