Your Honors:
Texas Health & Safety Code Sec. 481.134 establishes "Drug-Free Zones' as an enhancement to
penalties for certain drug-related offenses that orx;ur within the "Drug-Free Zones". One of the zones
described in Sec. 481.134 is a 1000-foot buffer around schools. For prosecution purposes, a map of
this 1000-foot zone is admissible as prima facie evidence, if the map complies with the requirements of
Sec. 481.135 [TX HBSC].
Kerr 911 has prepared such a map for the Ingram Independent School District under the direction of
Kerr County Engineer Franklin Johnston, and a copy of that map is attached.
As an aid to law enforcement and prosecutbn, this map, in its original certified form, needs to be
adopted by resolution by the Commissioners Court.
I would appreciate the Courts' consideration of this matter as an agenda dem.
Sec. 481.134 and Sec 481.135 are attached.

County Judge's Office.
