November 16, 1999 BACK UP Kerr County Road and Bridge has two (2) buildings on West Kelly Street property in Center Point. One, an equipment shed, the second, (or smaller building) was used as an office by Center Point Municipal Government. Electric meter is located on Road and Bridge shed, and smaller building is fed electricity from the shed building. Road and Bridge claims it does not use shed, and therefore is reluctant to assume responsibility for electricity to these two (2) buildings. Contrary to their denials of use, Road and Bridge has equipment in the shed building that it does use from time to tune. Neither J.P. #2 or Commissioner #2 has funds allocated for electricity and/or water in current budget. Based on size of building and limited use (perhaps two (2) days weekly) electricity chazges will run from $7.50 monthly (minimum) to $15.00, water chazges will be monthly minimum of $14.02 monthly. It would appear that the following options aze available: 1. Instruct Road and Bridge to assume responsibility for electricity and water inasmuch as they do use shed and equipment periodically and amend Road and Bridge budget at a later date, if necessary; 2. Transfer $325.00 from non-departmental contingency to J.P. #2 Budget for utilities; or 3. Allow Facilities Use and Maintenance Department to use shed as storage and assume responsibility for electricity and water.
