"BUSTER" BALDWIN, Commissioner Pct. 1 25 2 1 On Wednesday, February 23, 2000, at 4 o'clock p.m., a 2 Special Emergency Session of the Kerr County Commissioners 3 Court was held in the Commissioners Courtroom, Kerr County 4 Courthouse, and the following proceedings were had in open 5 court: 6 P R O C E E D I N G S 7 COMMISSIONER LETZ: We'll call this Special 8 Emergency Commissioners Court meeting to order. It's 9 4 o'clock on February 23rd. There's one item on the 10 consideration agenda, consider and discuss burn ban for Kerr 11 County. 12 COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: A lot of rain out in 13 my neck of the woods, about an inch average, around. I 14 think we may have gotten a little more than some, but I 15 understand that out in your precinct there were some pretty 16 good rains. 17 COMMISSIONER LETZ: We had in my area, I 18 think, probably as little as anyone, four-tenths of an inch. 19 Most of the areas I've talked to got anywhere from 20 six-tenths to three-quarters of an inch. 21 COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: I would make a motion 22 that we lift the burn ban, effective immediately. 23 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: I would second that. 24 Most of the people I talked to in the eastern part of 25 Precinct 2 had anywhere from a half inch up. And, as I 3 1 drove through there this afternoon, I see fire and smoke all 2 over the place. 3 COMMISSIONER LETZ: Burning in your precinct 4 already. 5 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Looked like an Indian 6 reservation there; smoke going up through the trees there. 7 COMMISSIONER LETZ: Motion from Commissioner 8 Griffin, second from Commissioner Williams, to lift the burn 9 ban. It's lifted until our next meeting? 10 COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: Until -- until Monday. 11 It's on the agenda already. 12 COMMISSIONER LETZ: All right. All in favor, 13 say "aye." 14 (The motion was carried by unanimous vote.) 15 COMMISSIONER LETZ: All opposed? 16 (No response.) 17 COMMISSIONER LETZ: None.
