HENNEKE, Kerr County Judge H. A. "BUSTER" BALDWIN, Commissioner Pct. 1 23 WILLIAM "BILL" WILLIAMS, Commissioner Pct. 2 LARRY GRIFFIN, Commissioner Pct. 4 24 ABSENT: JONATHAN LETZ, Commissioner Pct. 3 25 2 1 On Friday, March 31, 2000, at 3:00 p.m., a special 2 meeting of the Kerr County Commissioners Court was held in 3 the Commissioners' Courtroom, Kerr County Courthouse, 4 Kerrville, Texas, and the following proceedings were had in 5 open court: 6 P R O C E E D I N G S 7 JUDGE HENNEKE: It's 3 o'clock on Friday 8 afternoon, March 31st, Year 2000. We'll call to order this 9 special called meeting of the Kerr County Commissioners 10 Court. Let the record reflect that a quorum of the Court is 11 present. The only item on the agenda is consider and 12 discuss approval of the bond required for Rusty Hierholzer 13 to take office as Sheriff of Kerr County. Mr. Hierholzer, 14 do you have your bond? 15 MR. HIERHOLZER: Yes. 16 JUDGE HENNEKE: Present it to us at this 17 time. 18 (The bond was presented to the Court.) 19 JUDGE HENNEKE: Has it been reviewed by the 20 County Clerk? 21 MR. HIERHOLZER: The County Clerk has seen 22 it. I don't believe she reviewed it, Your Honor. 23 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: The County Clerk just 24 came into the room. 25 JUDGE HENNEKE: County Clerk, have you seen 3 1 the bond? 2 MS. PIEPER: I haven't. My Chief Deputy 3 possibly has, but I'll look at it just to make sure. 4 JUDGE HENNEKE: Take a quick look at it and 5 advise us whether it meets the requirements of the statute. 6 (Discussion off the record.) 7 MS. PIEPER: Yes, all except for his 8 signature. 9 JUDGE HENNEKE: Okay. Mr. Hierholzer, if 10 you'll come forward and -- well, Jannett, does he sign it 11 now or when -- 12 MS. PIEPER: He just needs to sign on the 13 principal, is all. As far as the oath, that's on the back 14 of that. He will be taking that tomorrow, but not on this 15 form. 16 JUDGE HENNEKE: Who's going to knowledge his 17 signature? You? 18 MS. PIEPER: Sign it right there. 19 (Bond signed by Mr. Hierholzer.) 20 JUDGE HENNEKE: We've been advised by the 21 County Clerk that the bond is, in form and substance, 22 sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the State of 23 Texas. Do I have a motion that we approve the bond in favor 24 of Rusty Hierholzer and authorize the acceptance of same by 25 the County Clerk upon his taking the oath? 4 1 COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: So moved. 2 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Second. 3 JUDGE HENNEKE: Moved by Commissioner 4 Griffin, seconded by Commissioner Williams, that the 5 Commissioners Court approve the bond for Rusty Hierholzer as 6 Sheriff, and upon his taking the oath, direct that it be 7 forwarded to the Kerr County Clerk for appropriate filing. 8 Any further discussion? If not, all in favor, raise your 9 right hand. 10 (The motion was carried by unanimous vote.) 11 JUDGE HENNEKE: All opposed, same sign. 12 (No response.) 13 JUDGE HENNEKE: Motion carries.
