Per Contractor's request for clarification of dimensions of plumbing chase requirements for back-to-back toilet chairs between Men Sand Women 3, find the enclosed CL50 Drawing which modifies original Drawings lAl and 3A6. Note that the chase is tapered horizontally to accommodate the chairs and to insure that the width of chase is ^ centered between but not overlapping the window trims on the north and south walls. ._ 2. Also as a convenience to the Contractor and to expedite the progress of the Work, it is acceptable to the Architect per Note Rl l to allow the plaster ceilings in the west end of the Second Floor Courthouse to remain in place in consideration for adequate access to the existing attic spaces provided per the attached Drawing CL50. L`the Owner approves the foregoing, and agrees to no credit being due, there shall be no change in Contract Amount. 3. Contractor discovered a condition which was not anticipated: The existing electrical circuits assumed to be in place to serve Air Handling Unit 1 and Outside Condensing iJnit lwere not found. Therefore, provide pricing, if any, to extend existing electrical service from MDP (3-pole 60 amp breaker) in Basement to the Second Floor into new 6"x 6" x 6" N-1 junction box. From that junction box extend service in new 1-inch conduit service approximately ten feet to a NEMA 1 disconnect, equivalent to that provided in the Specifications, in ceiling space to Air Handler 1. Also, for Outside Condensing Unit 1: Add to existing Panel S (ITE 100 amp 120/208 volt, single phase) in the Penthouse electrical closet, one ffE 2-pole 40 amp circuit breaker (S.O. 17-95740-1); from Panel S extend 3/4" minimum conduit and wiring through room south of the electrical closet, azound existing window, approximately 11 feet, through the exterior west wall into the back of the indicated wall-mounted disconnect for Condensing Unit Ion the roof. Detail difference in cost between the foregoing and the originally indicated electrical service from the -® Second Floor ceiling space routed through roof and extended exposed thereon. 4. Per Dtrectives 2, 5, 17, 25, and Change Orders 1, 2, and 4: Provide Pemko #200A threshold and #216AV door bottom in lieu of #200D threshold and #216DV door bottom, as called for in Dtrective 25, for Door 79. 5. Provide a detailed credit to delete from the Scope of Work the modified bitumen roofing and flashing indicated for the four small triangular portions of First Floor roof at building comers. Solder ail holes in the existing copper roofing and flashing in these areas and apply small quantities of specified sealant to heads of exposed fasteners. .-. 6. Per Contractor's request for information about notes to connect to existing plumbing lines per Drawing M3.1, dated 3-12-99: As a convenience to the Contractor, to revise discovered conditions, to expedite the project, and to avoid any increase in cost, the following revisions are duetted. If the Contractor agrees with revisions and anticipates no increase in Contract Time or Contract Amount, Contractor may proceed with changes, otherwise a detailed cost for the Work must be proposed by the Contractor to the Architect and approved by the Owner. Tn lieu of extendutg through existing chase on First Floor to the Basement to tie into existing plumbing water lines for cold and hot water connection as indicated, Contractor may use existing cold water in attic above existing plaster ceiling. Hot water may be connected to existing 1987-installed 30-gallon water heater in the Penthouse above, provided that all lines to abandoned Penthouse detention-type fixtures that feed in to or out of said water heater be capped or removed to avoid possible leaks from unattended fixtures. Such disconnection does not include separate toilet in the southwest comer of Penthouse, which shall remain in service. No changes to indicated sanitary drain lines are anticipated for Men 3 and Women 3. 7. Per Item 6 above, the Janitor Mop Sink lshall be revised to be Mop Sink 2: Kohler K-6714 (drilled back) with T&S Brass #B-0674-BSTR per submittal (splash mounted), 2" castuon pipe standard oriented obliquely to wall for clearance northeasterly toward existing 1-1/4-inch PVC drain through wall. Replace removed 1-1/4-inch drain line with 2-inch PVC drain following existing route to Basement connection point, including existing connecting lines en route; clamp securely to surfaces with new hardware and fasteners and insulate to avoid injury to occupants from hot pipes. Cold and hot water may be accessed from attic space, as in Item 6 above; extended exposed in northeast comer of Janitor room at column, thence exposed across ceramic file above base and vertical to behind splash in Mop Sink 2. Verify technical feasibility of connections prior to commencing this Work and advise Architect or Engineer Lux, if not feasible or of any anticipated increase in cost to Owner. Per Mechanical Subcontractor's question concerning re- routing AHU 1 condensate drains, it is acceptable to drop the 1-inch condensate drain into the above 2" replacement drain line via the northeast corner of Janitor and to re-route the auxiliary drain line to above the Mop Sink 2 at 10 feet. KC3 -Renovations of Kerr County Courthouse & Annex, Phase 3 -Directive 29 - Page Z of 3 - file:kc3direc029 8. Extend hot water to existing lavatory in Toilet 4 through existing chase wall (soft copper may be used in chase); .-, hazd copper may be extended a short distance (24 inches maximum) exposed inside Toilet 4 to existing stop, if necessary. It is acceptable to extend line through existing transom, if pipe does not interfere with transom operatiori.~ 9. Weather is also delaying this work. Painting of the exterior windows of Phase 3a (the Annex) also has not been completed. With the exception of two table tops for Courtroom No. 1, all of the new furniture has been delivered. February 16 Phase 3b, Stage 2, proceeds with completion of the above ceiling fire walls, and continuation of plumbing work, ceramic the work in the janitor's closet, and millwork. February 19 Work continues the same as on February l6, phis shelving work for the library. HVAC work also continues. February 20 Sheetrock work, plumbing work, mill work, HVAC work, and painting work continue. Grinding of rough welds on the handrails has started. February 21 Grinding and smoothing of handrail welds still need to be completed. Other work continues the same as on February 20. February 22 Electrical, cabinet, and plumbing work continue. The lay-in ceiling grid work has started. There was no construction meeting this week. February 23 Only the plumbers are working. l met with the architect to discuss Change Directives 28, 29, and 30.
