TO: Commissioners~j,/~ FROM: Fred Hennf~M~'p SUBJECT: Sunset Review We all know that the State of Texas reviews all agencies and departments of the State every ten yeazs to determine if any changes need to be made or if that program is still necessary. I believe that principle also applies at the County level. After all, how many of us still subscribe to magazines we don't read or want simply because we never cancelled them. Accordingly, I am proposing that we have a workshop or workshops in Mazch for the purpose of exa„»n,n~ all of the various programs we sponsor and fund so that we can make better decisions come budget time. I believe it would be enlightening for us to be able to ask why certain programs aze County funded and also to discuss (but not determine) the funding levels. It also might help us better understand the benefits from the various programs. The actual decisions regazding these programs would not be taken until budget time. I will place this on the agenda for discussion tour second February meetin . If you have any questions, please give me a call.
