PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, The Kerr Proud Committee was formed by the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce in 1997 to work on education, conservation, and beautification efforts; and WHEREAS, the Kerr Proud Committee is charged with participating in clean up efforts to beautify our community; and WHEREAS, Kerr Proud will coordinate several clean up activities during the month of April; NOW, THEREFORE, I Fredrick L. I work with Sherry Cunningham and other members of the community to try and inform the citizens of Kerr County about efforts to beautify, conserve and restore Kerr County's natural resources. To that end, the Ken Proud committee is requesting Kerr County to proclaim April as "Clean Up Our Act" month. There are several events happening in April that we are informing the community about; for example: Apri13`d -Old Computer Drop-off Day Apri12"d through 21 sc - Kerrville's Spring Cleanup of large items from residences Apri128`h -Hazardous Waste Day drop-off at the Recycling Center on Schreiner Street The Kerr Proud committee has arranged the following events to coincide with this "Clean Up" month: Apri15`~' - A competitive cleanup contest between area high schools and middle schools for clean up of trash in specified azeas. The winners of this contest will be given a swim and pizza party. Schools from Kerrville, Hunt and Ingram are participating. Apri17`h - In conjunction with Texas Trash Off Day, we will be sponsoring a Kerr Proud Clean Up day, with volunteers cleaning the trash in various designated areas around town. There will be a celebration in Hays Pazk around noon after the pickup, with food and drink for the volunteers. We would appreciate the County's help in informing the citizens of Kerr County about these valuable efforts in their community through a county proclamation.
