It's 9 o'clock in the morning on Friday, November the 9th. I'm glad to see we have about as many people in the audience as voted in the constitutional amendment election. The only business to come before the Court today is to canvass the votes from the 2001 constitutional amendment election for Kerr County. You each have a printout of the votes that were r_ast for each amendment. Does anyone have any questions or comments regarding the votes'? If not, I would entertain a motion to approve the votes as canvassed and presented. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: So moved. CUMMISSIONER BALUWIN: 1'll second that motion. JUUGE HENNEKE: Motion by Commissioner Williams, second by Commissioner Baldwin, that the Court approve the canvass of the votes cast in the 2UU1 constitutional amendment election as presented by the Kerr County Clerk's office. DODGE HENNEKE: All opposed, same sign. (No response.) DODGE HENNEKE: Motion carries. Let the record reflect that a quorum of the Court was present. If there's no further business to come before us, we stand adjourned. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: I was going to make a comment, but I can make it next Tuesday just as easily. It has to do with election and election notification. 1 had a call from a lady who lives in the southeast quadrant of the county who was pretty upset over the fact that she had driven 80 miles round-trip to vote, and was unable to do so 'cause she couldn't find the polling place. And 1 asked her if she took the local paper, because I know it was in the paper, and she says no, she doesn't take the local paper. Anyhow, the bottom line is she made a good suggestion, which I will pass on in the hope that it gets in the proper quarters, in that in the future, when we consolidate the voting precincts as we did this time, and assuming that our web site is up and running, it would be good to include that as information on the web site for people who may live out in the hinterlands and have limited communication. JUDGE HENNEKE: I think that's an excellent 4 suggestion. Hopefully by the time we ha~re another election, we'll have our web site up.
