PIEPER: And then the lease copier, of course, they're going up in expense, so I've increased that by $1,000. JUDGE HENNEKE: Why is that going up? MS. PIEPER: Just the amount of copies that we make. JUDGE HENNEKE: More copies? MS. PIEPER: Mm-hmm. And then the conferences, I've increased that by $200, because the conferences are getting further away, and the increase in gas prices. I was ~n Lhe Internet a while back, and 1 went into the I.R.S. site and printed out a thing that said that for the businesses in 2000, the gas mileage has increased to 32 and a half cents, so that I -- I thought that was kind of interesting. Whenever I go, I'm still putting in for 28 cents a mile, so I think in time the Commissioners need to -- COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: It's going to 39 and a half. MS. PIEPER: Is it? Okay. Well, this is for 2000. So -- COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: And the State is going L~ 34 and a half as of the lst of September. MS. JUDGE HENNEKE: It's just what the I.R.S. determines is the cost of operating the private vehicle per mile. COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: Then it gets reflected in Title 9 of the General Appropriations Act for the State. if you look in Title 9, that's all the general stuff about business travel or travel for the State, and this -- for near year, effective the lst of September, room and -- room, meals, and incidental expenses goes to 5110 a day maximum, and the mileage goes to 39 and a half cents. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: One of the boards that 1 sit on that -- that I'm reimbursed from, what we -- we have voted to just automatically be tied to that, the I.R.S. number, and if it goes up, it automatically goes up. rOMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: A lot of companies are doing that, too. It's the same for the I.R.S., and now the State has matched that. One year out-of-cycle, but the State has now matched that, so it will go to 39 and a half. Our 28 cents that we're doing now goes to 34 and a half on the 1st of September. COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: I think we ought to do it to the State. JUDGE HELdLdEKE: I think so, too. COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: It makes a lot of sense, sine we're an extension of State government and since we're -- COMMISSIONER BALGWIN: I agree. COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: Their Title 9 stuff ought to be applicable to us. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: is that a function -- another Iunction of the budget process, or a separate court order? JUDGE HENNEKE: It would be a separate court order. COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: We have to put it on the agenda. JUDGE HENNEKE: We'll take care of that in August. Okay. MS. PIEPER: OY,ay. My next line item, I have decreased my computer software by $3,500. I don't know of airy software that I'm going to be needing. And then software maintenance, that's just an increase of 5784 by the Ligures that Software Group sent me.
