RAINWATER HARVESTING A Component of Kerr County Water Conservation Policy PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS • Property owners will be eligible for aone-time $1 tax credit against their~uture Kerr County taxes for every $10 invested in Rainwater Harvesting Equipment purchased, that meets or exceeds the established minimum criteria, up to a maximum of $1,000, or the limit of a property owner's County tax liability (whichever is the lesser) in the year ollowin inspection and certification of the installed Rainwater Harvesting system. Application for participation in this program must be made through Headwaters Ground Water Conservation District (HGWCD) at its office, 1418 Sidney Baker North, Kerrville, Texas. • Inspection of the installed system must be made by field personnel of Headwaters Ground Water Conservation District. Upon completion of the inspection, HGWCD will certify to Kerr County that the system meets or exceeds the minimum criteria established by Kerr County Commissioners Court. Each fscal year Kerr County will budget the maximum amount, if any available ~r credits against Kerr Coun taxes. Upon receipt of certification by inspecting agency, Kerr County will issue a credit for county taxes to the property owner in an amount consistent with the formula established above for the ensuing tax year following installation of the Rainwater Harvesting Systemprovided, however, that the aggregate amount of credits shall not exceed the amount included in that fiscal year budget. Any quali~y~ system that does not receive its appropriate tax credit in the year fallowing certification shall be eligible for consideration in subsequent years. Qualifying systems shall be considered on a "first-come, first-served" basis. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA • Kerr County Application for Rainwater Harvesting System tax credit shall be submitted through Headwaters Ground Water Conservation District (HGWCD). • System storage capacity: 2,500 gallons minimum. • Sunlight restrictive design and construction to prevent algae growth. • Insect-proofing of storage system required.
