Commissioner- Let z, seconded by Commissioner Baldwin, the Court
unanimously approved by a vote of 4-@-@, that until fur•ther•
notice, the Court instr•iacts the Co~_inty Clerk to cease
notifying people of private or public road name changes, and
that the Road and Bridge Department cease installing signs of
new road names.

Current Kerr County Road and Bridge Procedure for Road Name Changes
I. Receive completed application
II. Complete the application for Road Naming (see attached) by reseazching the
following items:
1. County maintained, or private
2. Locate road, if unable to locate by mapping drive the azea
3. If County maintained, identify TxDOT number, to enter name change on
master list after it has been approved. Any name change must be reported on
the State biannual report.
4. Is road in platted subdivision, if so the Volume and Page of the subdivision
for plat changes.
5. Check Road & Bridge list, 911 list and Sheriff s list for duplicates.
6. Set date to present to the Commissioners Court.
7. Determine if Public Hearing is required.
8. Determine when 45 days from approval time and give to 911 at time
application is submitted.
9. Coordinate with Commissioner as to whether he wants to contact landowner,
name road himself, or have Truby Hazdin contact someone on the road, or
choose name for road.
II. Enter all information into DATA Base at Road & Bridge.
III. Submitted the completed sheet to 911 for approval.
IV. Prepaze list of roads for CC Agenda and FAX list to 911 for proofing.
V. Prepaze CC Agenda Request to include maps, petitions, and form for each road
name and submit to Commissioners Court for approval and send list to 911 for
proofing.
1. Private roads
a) Approved by Commissioners Court
b) Effective in 45 days
c) Proof Court Order
c) County Clerk to notify list of people of name change.
2. County Maintained roads
a) Advertisement must be written and approved, and Public Heazing date set
at first meeting of Commissioners Court.
b) Publication in local newspaper 3 times.
c) Public Heazing is held.
d) Commissioners Court to approve after Public Hearing (second court date).
e) Proof Court Order
f) County Clerk to notify list of people of name change.
g) Road & Bridge drive roads to see how many signs arc needed.
h) Signs aze made by Road & Bridge.
i) 45 days after approval Road & Bridge installs signs.
