M E M O R A N D U M BUSTER GRAM DATE: October 24, 2001 TO: David Motley, County Attorney FROM: BUSTER BALDWIN RE: Construction Contract David, Recently 1 have received several telephone calls from sub-contractors who worked on our Courthouse renovation. Our contractor, Stoddard, apparently has not paid them. It is my understanding Stoddard has a punch list to complete before he can receive his remaining contracted money. Until the Architect and our liaison signs off on the punch list, Kerr County cannot pay Stoddard Construction. We are caught in between subs that live in Kerr County and the obligation we have to taxpayers and their money. My question is, is there anything we can do to help our local people get their money from Stoddard? Should you need more information, please contact me.
