Re: Old Ingram Bridge
Deaz Judge Henneke:
Some time ago the City Attorney and I met with Commissioner Griffin and the County Engineer
concerning the City of Ingram taking control of the old Ingram bridge. It was then discussed that
Ingram would be interested in accepting the bridge only if it could repaired and brought to a safer
condition for use by the public. The Engineer indicated that the County crews could not perform the
"~' oncrete work needed. The Commissioner suggested that we obtain bids for the repairs and we have
peen attempting to do so for a couple of months.
We have been able to get only two contractors to give us bids. Enclosed is the lowest bid
received from Don Mays. This is for resurfacing only the traveled azea of the bridge though the riser
part that acts as a dam also needs repairs. The City is willing to accept the bridge with the resurfacing
only and hope that in the future, we may be able to do additional repairs.
It will be appreciated if you will present this matter to the Commissioner's Court, so that we may
have a cleaz understanding of the position of the Court on this matter. We obviously need to move
forwazd on the transfer, if possible.
If I can be of further assistance on this matter, please do not hesitate to call on me. We
appreciate the consideration and cooperation of the County.
