THE CItY OF KERRVILLE, TEXAS April 15, 2002 The Honorable Judge Fred Henneke Kerr County Judge Kerr County Courthouse 700 Main Street Kerrville, Texas 78028 RE: Experimental Aircraft Association Southwest Regional Fly-In Dear Judge Henneke: The EAA Southwest Regional Fly-In (SWRFI) moved from Kerrville to Abilene in 1998, and is now looking for a new host city for their event starting in 2003. Sudie Burditt, Executive Director of the Kerrville Convention and Visitors Bureau will be coordinating a response to the SWRFI request for proposals. The SWRFI committee will consider twenty four priorities to narrow the selection to three candidates, and then proceed with the selection process. The number one item on the list of priorities is support of city government and airport board, and the remainder are items that may or may not be able to be met by the proposal from Kerrville. The SWRFI event was an asset to Kerrville when it was held here, and is an opportunity to promote aviation to the community. A co At the April 10, 2002 meeting of the Kerrville/Kerr County Joint Airport Board, the Board indicated their support of SWRFI returning to Kerrville, and recommended the city and county support by resolution the Kerrville Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau proposal to SWRFI site selection committee.
