Kerr County Court Collection Department FULL TIME POSITION Job Title: COLLECTION OFFICER Department: Kerr County Court Collection Benet3ts Eligible: Yes Hours per Week: 40 Salary Level -Grade 17-1 Position Summary: Establishes payment plans for defendants responsible for court cost, child support, fines and other court fees. Notifies or located responsible parties with delinquent accounts and attempts to secure payment. Provides locations services to various law enforcement agencies. Provide statistical data and reports to all courts and commissioner court. Duties and Responsibilities: Interviews defendants and establishes payment agreements. Attends court proceedings. Monitors compliance with court order payment agreements. Notifies relevant court if responsible parties fail to respond. Sort and file correspondence. Traces responsible parties to new address by various databases and search strategies. Provides locations of individuals to law enforcement upon request. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two years college work or equivalent preferred; plus two years related collection experience and / or training, criminal justice background. Ability to read, ability to calculate figures and amounts, ability to solve problems and deal with a number of variables in situations where limited standardization exist. Must demonstrate competence with computer programs used in job. Must be self- starting and able to work independently.
