Whereas The LuUreran faiUr has had a presence in Kemille, Kerr County,
Texas, dating back [0 1898; and
Whereas 7.ion LuUrerarr Church was organized iu 1901, in Kerr County by Ure Reverend
Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Hans F.rncst N:nuisch; and
Whereas Ziou LuUreran Cimrch held services in Urc Union Church, built in 1885 [o serve
all denominations, until 1913; and
Whereas 7.ion LuUrerarr Church established its first church building on Ure comer of Sidney
Baker and Barnett Streets, ur Kemille, Kerr County, Texas; and
Whereas In Ure year 2001, Zion Ludrerazr Church celebrated its centennial of ministry in
Kerr County, Texas; and
Whereas the ministry of Zion LuUrerarr Church has expanded throughout Ure years in its
service to Kemille, Kerr County, and the surrounding area, oCEcring ministries Urat
reach every age group; now Urerefore be it
Resolved by Ure Kerr County Commissioners Court Urat Zion LuUreran Church is
recognized for the significance of Urc spiritual and social values it has helped
promote for Ure citizens of Kerrville and Ken' County and Ure surrounding area

Resolved That Kerr County Commissioners Court fours with Zion Lutheran Church in
celebrating and commemorating its history at the unveiling of the Slate of Texas
Historical Commission Subject Marker on Sunday, October 27, 2002; and be it
further
Resolved Urat an ot£icial copy of Uris adopted and signed Resolution be forwarded to Zion
Lutheran Church for inclusion in its ceremony and arclilves.
