It's 10 o'clock in the morning on Monday, November 25th. We'll call to order this special session of the Kerr County Commissioners Court. First item for consideration is to consider and discuss accepting the responses to Requests for Qualifications for design-build team for the improvement/renovation of the Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center, and referring responses to DRG Architects, LLC, for evaluation and recommendation. We have before us what appear to be four qualifications. COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: A little light bedtime reading there. DODGE HENNEKE: The first proposal is from Biermann Construction Company as the contractor, with Thompson Architects -- I'm trying to find the full name here. JUDGE HENNEKE: Okay. We -- the proposal is from, to qet the names right, Biermann Construction Company, as the construction, with J.F. Thompson, Inc., as the architectural component of that proposal. Second proposal is from Huser Construction Company, Inc., as the construction arm of the team, with Alan E. Adler as the architect. Mr. Adler is from San -- from Austin. Third proposal is from Faulkner Construction, Inc., and J.M. Lowe and Company as the construction component of the team, and Quorum P.rcklitects, Inc., as the architectural member of the partnership. The last proposal is from S.T. -- MS. ALFORD: Just received this one. JUDGE HENNEKE: When did they receive it? ' MJ'. ALFURD: Just now. JUDGE HENNEKE: It's too late. The last -- the fourth proposal is from STR Constructors, Limited, as the construction arm, and -- let's see, William E. Epp and Associates, Inc., as the architectural member of the design-build team. COMMISSIONER LETZ: I think this is part of the other one. It's their part -- the architect's part. DODGE HENNEKE: Okay. It goes with Biermann. We have four proposals for design-build team for the Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center. Do I have a motion to accept the proposals, refer them to DRG Architects for evaluation, and to set a special meeting for a week from today, Monday, December the 2nd, at 1:30, for the purpose of receiving the recommendations from DRG and taking any further action necessary? COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: So moved. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: Second. JUDGE HENNEKE: Motion by Commissioner Williams, second by Commissioner Baldwin, that the Court accept the four design-build team proposals as announced, refer them to DR.G Architects, Inc., for evaluation, and set a special meeting for Monday, December 2nd, at 1:30 p.m. here in the Commissioners Courtroom for purpose of receiving the recommendations from DRG Architects, and take any further action that may be needed with regard to the proposals. Any questions or comments? If not, all in favor, raise your right hand. (The motion carried by unanimous vote.) JUDGE HENNEKE: All opposed, same sign. (NO response.) JUDGE HENNEKE: Motion carries. It's up to you, gentlemen. The statute says the range is between $500 and $1,500. Mr. Elliott, J.P. 1, do you have a recommendation as to the size of the bond? JUDGE ELLIOTT: I think the size for the other constables are $1,500. That would be the appropriate amount. JUDGE HENNEKE: Okay. JUDGE ELLIOTT: To be consistent. JUDGE HENNEKE: Commissioner? COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: I'll move for approval. JUDGE HENNEKE: Okay. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: And I do so, sir. JUDGE HENNEKE: Thank you. COMMISSIONER GRIFFIN: Second. JUDGE HENNEKE: Motion by Commissioner Baldwin, second by Commissioner Griffin, that the Court set the bond for Constable-designate Pickens in Precinct 1 at $1,500. Any questions or comments?
