To: County Judge and Commissioners From: Glenn Holekamp Subject: Purchasing a portable building for the Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center The Facilities Use and Maintenance Department and the Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center booking agent have been relocated to the courthouse since July of this year due to the flooding of the offices at the Exhibit Center. This has been difficult for my departments to function properly. The insurance claims paid are included in this information. The company has indicated to us that without roof repair, that in the event of additional rain damage, no more claims can be make on these offices. I am requesting the court to allow this department to purchase a portable office building to be placed in front of the existing office. This would allow for the booking agent and barn manager to have a clean and safe work place. In the event, major roof replacement or other major changes in the facilities take place in the near future this building could be used elsewhere. The building that should meet our current minimum needs is 12'x24' with a gable roof for $4,805.00. The remaining insurance money should provide HVAC and electrical. Maintenance staff can finish out the interior insulation, paneling and other finish out that is necessary.
