In the past years we have done an annual bidding process for the following items:
Base Materials
-- Hot Mix-Cold Laid Asphalt (Cold Mix)
Paving Aggregate (gravel}
Emulsion Oils for paving
Corrugated Metal Pipe (Culverts}
Equipment by the Hour with Operator
Because of the fluctuation of the oil prices we have prolonged the bidding process for this
year hoping they would stabilize.
While waiting for the price of oil to stabilize, we have contacted the suppliers of the other
products awarded last year and asked if they would extend their prices until such time we
went out for bids again. At the time of this memo, all bidders agreed with the exception of
the base and emulsion suppliers.
We are asking the Court to approve the extension of the bids until March 15, 2404, for all
items except of Base and Emulsion Oils. These we will need permission to purchase as
needed.
Attached is last years recommendation for annual bids that was accepted by the Court.
