County Judge and Commissioners: Burn Ban Issue The Volunteer Fire Departments are dissatisfied with the requirement that Commissioners' Court action is needed to establish a burn ban. They claim that this results in delays and that creates a greater risk of brush fires. They propose that individual commissioners be given the authority to initiate burn bans in their respective precinct following recommendations from Fire Chiefs. I expect that some Fire Chiefs and/or KARFA representatives will be present to speak on this subject. 1,~tiirS~-
