Mr. Johnston tells me that the landowners will need to acquire right-of--way in order for
the County to budget funds for widening the road.

I appreciate your and Mr. West concerns about the width of roadway at Holloman and Wood Trail Roads, however
the right-of--way is not forty-five foot, but twenty-five foot. Even though the Wood Trails subdivision was platted
with fifty-foot right-of-way it was developed off of a road that only had twenty-five foot.
-- During the past twelve years we have looked at this area several times with the landowners of the property along
Holloman Road, the homeowners of Wood Trails Ranch, and the current commissioner at the time. We have paid
for surveys and tried to work out a way to widen the road with no avail.
At this point, the only way we see to widen this road would be condemnation of land starting at Goat Creek Road to
where it enters the platted subdivision. For you to understand the layout I have attached both a copy of the survey
plat and deed notes that show the right-of-way for Holloman.
This subdivision was platted in 1977 before Kerr County Subdivisions Rules went into effect and at that time only
Wood Trail and Roland Roads were accepted for maintenance. In 1991 six more roads were taken in by the
Commissioner's Court and have been built at County expense. Both this department and the previous
Commissioner of Precinct 4 felt the homeowners of Wood Trails Ranch should be fmancially responsible for
acquiring right-of--way for further development of this road.
If you would like to work with the Landowners and the County Attorney to acquire the land, we would be happy to
work with you to budget for the widening of Holloman Road.
