REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL AND/OR ENGINEERING SERVICES
Ken County is seeking to enter into a contract with a competent architectural and/or engineering
firm to assist the County with design and/or construction alternatives for repairs, renovations,
rehabilitation, refurbishing and/or construction of facilities at Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center
and the cost estimates for each of such alteniatives.
I. Scope of Work-The architectural contract may encompass all project-related engineering
to Kerr County, including but not limited to the following:
• Inspection and review of existing Facilities and components
• Determination of continuedl feasible utilization of existing facilities or components
or parts thereof
• All preliminary and final architectural design plans, specifications and elevations
• Preparation of the construction bid packet
• Conduction of all field testing and inspections (irrterim and final)
• Recordkeeping requirements
• Environmental clearance procedures
• Other special architectural services
• Cost estimates for each alternative presented
Please specify the actual tasks to be performed under each of these categories and the
firms capacity to perform these tasks.
II. Statement of Qualifications-The County is seeking to contract with a competent
architectural and/or engineering firm, registered to practice in the State of Texas, that has
had experience in the following areas:
• Commercial Building projects
• Federally-funded construction projects
• Projects located in Kerr County or nearby area
Please provide within your proposal a list of past client local governmerrts, as well as resumes of
all engineers who will or may be assigned to this project if you received the architectural and/or
engineering services contract award.
III. Cost Estimate-Please include with this proposal an estimate of the cost to provide all
services mentioned previously in the Scope of Work. Please note that Kerr County will not
use lowestlbest bid as the sole criteria for entering into such a contract, as this is
prohibited by the Texas Professional Services Procurement Act.
N. Affirmation Action-List affirmative action efforts of the firm.
V. Evaluation Criteria-The proposals received will be evaluated and ranked according to the
