PROPOSE REVISED LONGEVITY AND EDUCATIONAL PAY INCREASE POLICY ADOPTED AUGUST 25, 2003 1.) All new employees shall continue to begin at Step 1 of the appropriate pay grade unless the Commissioners Court approve an exception in advance or as provided below for Law Enforcement personnel. 2.) All Kerr County employees shall receive a one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon completion of one year's satisfactory employment with the County, another one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, after an additional three years of service, and continuing one (1) step increase after each successive three years of service-i. e. 1, 4, 7, 10, etc. All such increases shall become effective on the payroll following the anniversary date. 3.) Law Enforcement personnel required to hold a peace officers' or jailers' license shall receive a one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their intermediate certificate, another one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their advanced certificate, and a two (2) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their master certificate. All such increases shall become effective on the payroll following the anniversary date. 4.) New Law Enforcement personnel required to hold a peace officers' or jailers' license shall, upon hiring, be entitled to, a one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, with an intermediate certificate, an additional one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, with an advance certificate, and an additional two (2) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, with a masters certificate. 5.) Dispatchers shall receive a one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their intermediate certificate, another one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their advanced certificate. All such increases shall become effective on the payroll following the anniversary date. 6.) New Dispatchers shall, upon hiring, be entitled to, a one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, with an intermediate certificate, an additional one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, with an advance certificate. 7.) Road and Bridge personnel required to hold a Road Scholar license shall receive a one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their basic certificate, another one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their advanced certificate, and another one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their master certificate. Road & Bridge personnel shall also receive a one (1) step increase, or the equivalent thereof, upon receipt of their pesticide applicator license. All such increases shall become effective on the payroll following the anniversary date. 8.) Road and Bridge personnel required to hold a special license and if this license is required as part of their job description, shall not be entitled to any additional increase in salary.
