The governing bodies of voting taxing units within the appraisal district nominate directors. The Kerr CAD Board ofDirectors has five positions; itls your entity's duty to nominate mcrnbers that you feel will represent your entity and the taxpayers ofKerr County. The procedure for selecting board members is as follows: The chiefappraiser calculates the number of votes that an entity receives based on its prior year tax levy (the larger the levy the more votes). The chiefappraiser notifies the entities of the number of votes it may cast. Kerr County has 907 votes. Each voting enliry can nominate up to Frve candidates for the positions. Your nominees must be submitted to the Kerr Central Appraisal District by October 15, 2003. The chiefappraiser prepares a ballot ofnominees and submits i[ to the entities by October 30, 2003. Each voting entity must then notify Kerr CAD by November 15, 2003, aher casting their allotted votes for one or all candidates by written resolution. The cfiiefappraiserrnust than count the votes and declare the candidates who received the largest vote totals by December 1, 2003. The chief appraiser will then notify the entities and candidates of the outcome.
