APPROVAL OF NEW POLICY
OF THE MANAGER/FIELD REPRESENTATIVE
OF THE KERR COUNTY
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
On this the 27th day of October, 2003, upon motion made by
Commissioner Nicholson, seconded by Commissioner Letz, the
Court unanimously approved by a vote of 4-0-0, of new policy of
the manager/field representative of the Kerr County Environmental
Health Department as written and as with the change proposed by
Commissioner Williams.

grievance process and the organizational relationship of the Manager and his/her
staff with the Commissioners Court.

The Manager/Field Representative of Kerr County's Environmental Health Department
has sole responsibility for administering the department's functions and supervising-its
employees. The Manager reports to the Commissioners' Court.
Persons aggrieved by an action or decision of the Kerr bounty Environmental Health
Department may appeal such action or decision to the Kerr County Commissioners'
Court. The appeal is initiated by the aggrieved~erson notifying the appropriate County
Commissioner of the basis of the grievance in writing. The County Commissioner shall
schedule the grievance to be heard in a r~ular or special meeting of the Commissioners'
Court and shall notify the Manager of the Environmental Health Department that the
grievance is scheduled to be heard.
Individual members of the Ken County Conunissioners' Court are not authorized to
engage in activities to mediate grievances outside the grievance process outlined above or
otherwise interfere in the administration of OSSF or Solid Waste programs.

Department shall advise the Commissioners in whose precinct the dispute
arises, and shall schedule the grievance to be heard in a regular or special
meeting of the Commissioners' Court.

outlined above or otherwise engage in activities to interfere in the
administration of OSSF or Solid Waste programs.
