Each pair of shoes will represent children who have lost their lives in Texas due to abuse and neglect. The above mentioned agencies will be responsible for getting the shoes put up and taking them down. We will have signs to explain what the shoes represent. The number of fatalities we have to date are as follows: 1997-103; 1998-176; 2001-195; 2002-203; 2003-184. We hope to have the numbers for 1999 and 2000 for you at the March 22 meeting.
