TO: Commissioners Court Dear Sirs: The Hill Country Mounted Peace Officers Association holds a wild Game dinner every year around the first weekend in April. Monies raised at this annual event are used to sponsor a local youth camp in which 10-20 attend. The fast focus of the camp is to certify these youth in Hunter Safety. At a later date these same youth are allowed to take part in a hunt that is also sponsored by the Hill Country Mounted Peace Officers Association. The group also awards 3 to 5 scholarships to graduating seniors in Kerr County. The HCMPOA helps every year at the Ken Cortnty Youth livestock sale as runners during the sale. Money is also contributed for the purchase of animals at this sale. The main focus of the HCMPOA is as a support group for Law Enforcement agencies in the area during times of disaster and other needs as man hunts and searches for lost children. Our next priority is the local youth of the area. Youth awareness day is another annual event sponsored by the HCMPOA in which all local Law Enforcement agencies along with Fire and Rescue, EMS, Animal Control and Ioeal Electric Company teach children safety and general information. This event is focused on ail fourth grade students in the area. Once again this organization is to help the people of our community. We feel that one of the best ways to better our community in the future is to focus on our youth. We thank you for your support in the past and look forward to your continued support in the future. Warmest regards, m.~ ~,.- Mark Chapa President Hi11 Country Mounted Peace Officer Association
