Center Point Inae enaent Sc oaf District ~. ~ ~ PO BOX 3~] '~ CENTER POINT TX 7HOIO www.center-point. k12.tx. us To: Ken County Commissioners From: Lee Ann Ray, Superintendent Center Point ISD Date: January 11, 2005 Re: Approval of Septic System for Building Trades Project The Center Point ISD is requesting approval from the Kerr County Commissioners Court to build a low pressure dosage septic system on the recently purchased land on Hwy 27 in Center Point. The Center Point Building Trades Class is currently working on a project to build a house far the district_ The project serves two purposes. First, the students will be exposed to the skills required to build a house from creating the floor plan using a computer design program to working with subcontractors. The students will also learn about working with architects/engineers, obtaining permits, and the bid process. Secondly, the house will provide lease property for current school employees living out of the district or for future employees wishing to move to Center Point. The district also has the option to sell the house for additional revenue for the district. Attached is a current survey showing six one-acre tracts. The district plans to build one house each year on a one-acre tract with each house having an independent low pressure dosage septic system. The property currently has a functional water well, which is a test well for the UGRA. The district intends to keep the water well private, having fewer than 14 connections. The district is working with the LCRA in order to build a roadway easement off Stoneleigh Road creating access to these homes from the back of the property instead of entering from Hwy 27. See attached map. Fortunately we have had several episodes of extreme rainfall in the past six months. This has allowed us to monitor the flow of storm waters. There is a need to divert water as indicated on the attached map. A contour map is also attached. I will be present at your meeting scheduled for January 24, 2005 to answer any questions. Thank you for your support and assistance.
