Attached are the bid sheets along with a summary of the bids we received March 11, 2005. Even
though we advertised and mailed bid packets to all of those that bid last year, we did not receive
a good response.
Our recommendation for acceptance of the bids is as follows:
1. Wilson Culverts Corrugated Metal Pipe
2. Ergon Emulsion Oils
3. Vulcan Materials Cold Mix, Black Base
4. Vulcan Materials Trap Rock Paving Aggregate
5. Equipment by the Hour Swartz Construction
We recommend using Swartz as first contractor, and the
others as backup when he is unavailable or we need
equipment he does nat have.
Since we did not receive any bids from the local venders, except one that came in late, we ask
the Court to allow the department to purchase base at the closest source to the job site.
