Came to be heard this the 11~' day of April 2005 with a motion made by Commissioner
Williams, seconded by Commissioner Nicholson. The Court unanimously approved by
vote of 4-0-0 declaring the Soil and Water Stewardship Proclamation for April 24-May 1,
2005 and authorize the County Judge to sign.

Each April, The Association of Texas Soil and Water Conservation
Districts launches "Soil and Water Stewardship Week" to highlight the
importance of conservation efforts across our.great state.
As we look toward the future, citizens across the Lone Star State must
remain mindful that the Texas of tomorrow is being defined by the actions
we take today. Together, we can continue to lay a solid foundation for the
generations to come, recognizing always the important roles that we must all
play in being excellent stewards of the land.
Therefore, I, Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, do hereby proclaim

Proclamation
The well being of our people depends on the production of ample supplies of
food, fiber and other products of soil.
The quality and quantity of these products depend upon the conservation, wise
use and proper management of soil and water resources.
It is the concern and responsibility of every person to see that soil resources be
conserved and managed properly and water quality and quantity be maintained
to assure the welfare of all citizens.
Soil and water conservation districts provide a practical and democratic
organization through which landowners are taking the initiative to properly use
and protect these resources.
Soil and water conservation districts are sponsoring Soil and Water Stewardship
Week as a commitment to protecting our renewable resources.

County, in full appreciation of the value of our soil, water and wildlife resources,
and desiring to honor those who protect those resources, do hereby proclaim
